Lux et Color Vesprimiensis (LeCV) was organized for the first time in 2001 by the Applied Light and Color Working Committee of the Veszprém Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, at the close of the 70th birthday of Professor János Schanda. The yearly events of the Lux et Color Vesprimiensis series became a yearly review of the work of research groups into the most interesting works of light and colour science. At the event, researchers and students of the research field were given the opportunity to present their latest achievements, but representatives of industry who are also active in the field of light and colour are always given the opportunity.
In 2018 the Lux et Color Vesprimiensis conference was organized by MTA VEAB in cooperation with new partners, like the Hungarian Lighting Association and the Foundation for Hungarian Lighting Technology, in honour of Prof. Schanda János in Veszprém, October 2018.
